Appilattoq is the only settlement in Prince Christian Sound at the southern tip of Greenland. In the 2020 census its population was 100 but today it is down to about 70. The main occupations and sources of income are hunting and fishing but it is a hard and isolated life. A few cruise ships call in each year and we were made very welcome with coffee and cake in the village hall. I bought a pair of beaded earrings that the ladies make during the long Winter.
